The refurbishment of CHEMP Budac I was performed near Budacu de Sus village, on Budac river, downstream the confluence with Bolovan creek.

The work involved the rehabilitation of Budac I water intake, the replacement of the penstock, the rehabilitation of the powerhouse building and the replacement of the hydraulic equipment.

The power house is equipped with a Pelton turbine which develops an installed power of 0,61 MW.
