Bistra hydropower development is located on Bistra river, on the section downstream the confluence with Scredelului creek.

The project consists of one water intake, one section of penstock and one small hydropower plant.

The water intake is situated at an altitude of 743,60 meters above sea level and it was designed to take over an installed flow of 0,82 m3/s.

The penstock is made out of GRP with diameters of 800 and 900 mm and a total length of 4.850 m.

The power plant is situated at an altitude of 604,20 meters above sea level and it is equipped with a Pelton turbine, which was dimensioned for an installed flow of 0,82 m3/s and a total head of 139 m. The equipment was designed to develop an installed power of about 0,90 MW and it will produce energy of about 4.439 MWh/year.
