The refurbishment of CHEMP Bolovanu was performed near Budacu de Sus village, on Budac river, downstream the confluence with Blidireasa creek.

The work involved the rehabilitation of Bolovanu Dam, the replacement of the penstock, the rehabilitation of the powerhouse building and the replacement of the hydraulic equipment.

The power house is equipped with two Francis turbines which develop together an installed power of 0,91 MW.
