Răcătău hydropower development is located on the section downstream the confluence with Dobruș creek.

The water intake is situated at an altitude of 1.145,46 meters above sea level and it was designed to take over an installed flow of 1,50 m3/s.

The penstock is made out of GRP with diameters of 1.100 and 1.200 mm and a total length of 5.995 m.

The power plant is situated at an altitude of 1.021,86 meters above sea level and it is equipped with a Pelton turbine, which was dimensioned for an installed flow of 1,50 m3/s and a total head of 123,60 m. The equipment was designed to develop an installed power of about 1,62 MW and it will produce energy of about 5.877 MWh/year.
