Budac I hydropower development is located on Budac river, the water intake being located upstream the confluence with Izvorul Muntelui creek.

The project consists of one water intake, one section of penstock and one small hydropower plant.

The water intake is situated at an altitude of 888,05 meters above sea level and it was designed to take over an installed flow of 1,05 m3/s.

The penstock is made out of GRP with a diameter of 900 mm and a total length of 1.520 m.

The power plant is situated at an altitude of 809,34 meters above sea level and it is equipped with a Pelton turbine, which was dimensioned for an installed flow of 1,05 m3/s and a total head of 79 m. The equipment was designed to develop an installed power of about 0,70 MW and it will produce energy of about 2.300 MWh/year.
