Nirajul mare hydropower development is located on Nirajul Mare river, on the section between the confluence with Tigla creek and the one with Nirajul Mic river.

The project consists of one water intake, one section of penstock and one small hydropower plant.

The water intake is situated at an altitude of 934,50 meters above sea level and it was designed to take over an installed flow of 0,75 m3/s

The penstock is made out of GRP with a diameter of 700 mm, with a total length of 6.130m.

The power plant is situated at an altitude of 655,90 meters above sea level and it is equipped with a Pelton turbine, which was dimensioned for an installed flow of 0,75 m3/s and a total head of 278,55 m. The equipment was designed to develop an installed power of about 1,646 MW and it will produce energy of about 5.971 MWh/year.
